Qualification
- Technician Apprentice (Discipline Codes 101-106): 3-year regular full-time Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics) with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).
- Trade Apprentice (ITI) (Discipline Codes 107-111): Matriculation with 2-year ITI course (Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Machinist) recognized by NCVT/SCVT. Pass marks sufficient.
- Graduate Apprentice (Discipline Code 112): Regular full-time Graduate in any discipline (BBA/BA/B.Com/B.Sc.) with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).
- Trade Apprentice-Data Entry Operator (Fresher) (Discipline Code 113): Class 12th pass (below graduate).
- Trade Apprentice-Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holders) (Discipline Code 114): Class 12th pass (below graduate) plus a Skill Certificate in 'Domestic Data Entry Operator' (training of less than one year) from a recognized body.

Stipend Details
Apprentices at IOCL will receive a stipend as per the Apprentices Act, 1961, along with an additional ₹2,500 per month for miscellaneous expenses. The stipend for Graduate and Technician Apprentices is partially disbursed via DBT by BOAT.
