Other Eligibility Conditions & Medical Fitness
Applicants must generally be residents of Tamil Nadu or registered with a local Employment Exchange within the state. Wards of Railway employees are also eligible. Selected candidates must be physically fit as per the Apprentices Act, 1961, and produce a Medical Certificate from a Government-authorized doctor during Document Verification.

Selection Process

- Trade Allotment (Freshers): Trades are allotted based on merit order and vacancy availability. Requests for trade changes are not entertained.
- Trade Allotment (Ex-ITI): Candidates are trained in the specific trade for which they hold an ITI certificate.
- Medical Fitness: Selected candidates must be physically fit as per the Apprentices Act, 1961, and Apprentices Rules. A Medical Certificate from a Government-authorized doctor is mandatory.
- Apprenticeship Contract: Selected candidates must execute a contract of apprenticeship. For minors, a guardian must execute the contract.
