Physical Test Criteria

Salary & Allowance
Home Guard is a voluntary service. Members receive a Daily Duty Allowance at rates prescribed by the Jharkhand government only for the days they are deployed on duty.

Selection Process
The selection is strictly based on Physical Tests and Merit. Candidates must qualify for each stage as per the 2014 Jharkhand Home Guard Rules.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Includes 1-Mile Race, High Jump, Long Jump, and Shot Put.
- Hindi Writing Ability Test: A qualifying exam (100 marks, 30 passing) to check literacy levels.
- Technical Efficiency Test: Only for Urban Technical candidates (Qualifying nature).
- Medical Examination: Final verification of physical fitness.
- Character Verification: Conducted by the local Police department.
Physical Test Pattern (PET)
Points are awarded based on performance in the 1-Mile Race. Faster timing results in higher marks for the final merit list.
