Qualification
- Welder/Fitter/Machinist/Others: Pass in SSLC, ITI (National Trade Certificate) and All India National Trade Test (National Apprenticeship Certificate) in the relevant trade.
- Experience: Minimum five years post-qualification experience in the relevant field (Shipyard/Engineering/Govt Co.).
Full Eligibility
Candidates must possess the National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the respective trade after completing ITI. A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience is mandatory, which can include the period of completed Apprenticeship Training under the Act of 1961.

Salary
Selected candidates will be placed in the W6 Pay Scale. The monthly emoluments include Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance (DA), and House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per CSL rules.

Selection Process
The selection for Cochin Shipyard Workmen posts will be conducted in two phases. Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks in both phases to be considered for the final merit list.
- Phase I: Objective Type Online Test (30 Marks)
- Phase II: Practical Test in relevant trade (70 Marks)
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates in 1:6 ratio will be called for CV.
- Medical Examination: Final selection is subject to medical fitness.
Exam Pattern
The Phase I online test consists of 30 questions with a duration of 35 minutes. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
