Salary / Pay Scale

Selected candidates for the RDSO Senior Section Engineer (Inspection) posts will be appointed at Pay Level-7 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission. This is an ex-cadre and tenure-based position for a period of 04 years.

• The tenure is for 04 years, extendable/curtailable as per administrative requirements.
• Incumbents will be eligible for further promotion in their parent cadre only.
• Experience in ex-cadre posts and pay level granted due to MACP will not be considered for selection.

Selection Process

The selection for RDSO Senior Section Engineer (Inspection) posts will be based on a comprehensive screening process conducted by a dedicated Screening Committee. This process evaluates candidates on their APARs and educational qualifications.

• Screening Committee: Eligible candidates will be screened by a dedicated committee.
• Marking Scheme: Screening will be based on marks awarded for two key items:
  • APAR of last 03 years (Maximum 15 Marks):
    • Outstanding: 05 Marks per year
    • Very Good: 04 Marks per year
    • Good: 03 Marks per year
    • Average: 02 Marks per year
    • Below Average: 01 Mark per year
  • Educational Qualification (Maximum 05 Marks):
    • Degree (B.Tech or Equivalent): 05 Marks
    • Diploma/B.Sc. or Equivalent: 03 Marks
• Consideration of Previous Tenures: Candidates who have previously served in RDSO and completed the required cooling-off period will be considered only if the number of fresh applicants is insufficient.
• Merit Panel Preparation: A merit panel will be prepared based on the total marks obtained by candidates.
• Tie-Breaking Rule: In case of equal marks, priority will be given to the candidate with more service experience.
• Merit List & Waiting List: A merit list corresponding to the vacancies will be prepared. If suitable candidates exceed vacancies, a standby/waiting list will also be prepared.

• Collaborating with various departments to resolve quality-related issues.
• Selected candidates may be posted at Lucknow, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, New Delhi, or other locations as per RDSO Administration's discretion.
• The post is ex-cadre, meaning incumbents will be eligible for further promotion in their parent cadre only.
