Qualification

  • Candidates must hold a Master's Degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/Differently Abled/PhD degree holders who obtained their Master's Degree prior to 19 September 1991) in the concerned/relevant/allied subject.
  • Additionally, candidates must have cleared NET conducted by UGC/CSIR, or an equivalent test accredited by UGC such as SLET/SET.
  • Alternatively, candidates holding a PhD degree awarded in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016 (with specific conditions) are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
  • A PhD Degree from a foreign university/institution ranked among the top 500 globally by QS, THE, or ARWU also qualifies.
  • For the Music discipline, traditional and professional artists with commendable achievements, "A" grade Artist status of AIR/Doordarshan, and ability to teach theory may also be eligible.

Option A:

Option B:

  • A PhD Degree obtained from a foreign university/institution ranked among the top 500 in the world by QS World University Rankings, The Times Higher Education (THE), or ARWU by Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

For Music Discipline (Alternative):

  • A traditional and professional artist with highly commendable achievement, studied under noted masters, holds "A" grade Artist status of AIR/Doordarshan, and has the ability to teach theory with illustrations.
Age Limit As on 01 January 2026: Maximum 40 years for Open Merit, 43 years for Reserved Categories, 40 years for In-service, and 42 years for Physically Challenged candidates.
