Salary & Professional Fee
The remuneration for the empaneled advocates is not a fixed monthly salary but is based on a Professional Fee structure defined by CPCB.
- Fee Schedule: Professional fees will be paid as per the terms and conditions issued by CPCB from time to time.
- Tenure: The initial empanelment will be for three years.
- Renewal: Performance is reviewed periodically, and extensions may be granted based on satisfactory performance.
- Existing Advocates: Current advocates on the CPCB panel must re-apply for fresh empanelment.
Selection Process
The selection of advocates for the CPCB Legal Panel involves a structured review process to ensure high-quality legal representation.
- Application Screening: Initial scrutiny of applications by the Screening/Scrutinising Committee.
- Document Verification: Verification of Enrolment Certificates, Reported Judgements, and Experience Proofs.
- Shortlisting: Shortlisting candidates based on Environmental Law expertise and years of practice.
- Final Approval: Approval by the Competent Authority of CPCB.
- Website Upload: The final list of empaneled advocates will be published on the official website.
Job Profile & Responsibility
Selected advocates will be responsible for safeguarding the interests of the Central Pollution Control Board in legal matters related to environmental protection and pollution control.
- Legal Representation: Representing CPCB in the Supreme Court, Delhi HC, NGT (Principal Bench), and District Courts.
- Drafting: Preparing and filing Affidavits, Counter-Affidavits, and legal briefs.
- Advisory: Providing legal opinions on Environmental Acts (Water Act, Air Act, etc.).
- Coordination: Coordinating with the Law Division of CPCB for case updates and strategy.
- Video Conferencing: Attending hearings through virtual mode as and when required.
